Delivery Route Truck Driver - Class A / Class B CDL

Full Time CDL Class A or Class B Delivery Driver
Toft Dairy - 3717 Venice Road, Sandusky, OH 44870
Schedule - Monday through Friday
Start time - Midnight – 4:00AM
End time - Completion of delivery route (typically an 8 hour day)

The CDL Class A or B Delivery Driver is responsible for safely delivering Toft Dairy products while ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and exceptional customer service. This position plays a key role in maintaining product quality, food safety standards, and positive customer relationships while operating within DOT regulations.

Operational Responsibilities:

• Safely operate CDL Class A or B delivery vehicles on assigned routes


• Deliver milk and ice cream products to customers accurately


• Load and unload products using pallet jacks and hand carts


• Maintain proper product handling to meet food safety and quality standards


• Complete route paperwork and required documentation


• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections


• Follow all DOT regulations and company policies


• Maintain cleanliness and organization of delivery vehicles


• Assist with additional duties as assigned

Customer Service Responsibilities:

• Provide professional and courteous service at all delivery locations


• Build and maintain positive relationships with customers


• Address delivery issues or concerns in a timely and professional manner


• Represent Toft Dairy with a positive attitude and strong work ethic

Physical and Work Requirements:

• Climb in and out of truck frequently throughout the shift


• Sit for extended periods while operating vehicle controls


• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly


• Push/pull loaded pallet jacks and hand carts


• Perform repetitive lifting, stacking, and carrying


• Work in cold environments and varying weather conditions


• Maintain balance on slippery surfaces, especially during winter


• Ability to perform safely in a physically demanding, fast-paced environment

Qualifications:

• Valid CDL Class A or B license with current medical card


• Ability to pass DOT physical exam


• Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug screenings


• Ability to pass a background check


• Experience driving a 10-speed manual transmission required


• Strong attention to detail and accuracy


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills


• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and company policies


• Strong work ethic with a dependable and positive attitude


• Customer service experience preferred
