This position supervises Sherwin-Williams Delivery Service Drivers responsible for delivering products to customers from Sherwin-Williams stores and branches. Supervisors provide direct management of drivers and leads and are accountable for fostering a team environment through effective and appropriate communication. They are responsible for maintaining all standards in accordance with safety, quality, inventory, and productivity levels as well as providing leadership to meet SWDS goals and objectives.
Implement and enforce company policies and procedures including safety and compliance
Oversee SWDS operations though frequent travel to Sherwin-Williams store locations, delivery vehicle parking terminals, District office(s) and customer job site locations
Ensure effective and safe use of warehouse equipment
Monitor telematics, fleet, and delivery reporting to ensure safe driving, effective vehicle maintenance, and operational efficiency
Proactively seek delivery experience feedback from drivers, Sherwin-Williams store employees, and external customers
Suggest corrective action as needed and partner with Area-level, District-level, Fleet, Safety and Sherwin-Williams Delivery Service Operations to resolve issues promptly
Plan and communicate driver work schedules
Manage employee training, development, performance management, and corrective action
Conduct regular communication meetings with driver team including driver start up meetings and drive along
Minimum Requirements:
Must be at least 21 years of age
Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future
Must have a valid, unrestricted driver's license
Must have at least a High School diploma or GED
Must have at least two (2) years of work experience in transportation, logistics and/or delivery
Preferred Qualifications:
Have a valid, unrestricted Commercial Driver's License ("CDL")
Have at least two (2) years of experience working in the Sherwin-Williams Delivery Service
Have a bachelor's degree or higher in Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or Operations
Have at least one (1) year of work experience operating mobile power equipment such as lift trucks, tow motors or pallet handling equipment, order pickers, high lifts, forklifts, or cherry pickers
Have at least one (1) year of experience in leadership role(s), supervising others, or leading teams
Have completed formal training in and/or have at least one (1) year of work experience applying continuous improvement tools such as Six Sigma, 5-S, Lean Manufacturing, Transactional Lean, etc.
Have prior work experience using transportation management systems (such as, Descartes Route Planner and MobileLink, GeoTab, Glympse)
Have at least one (1) year of work experience using Microsoft Office products (e.g. Word, Excel, Power Point, Teams, and/or Outlook)
