Position: Delivery / Warehouse Associate

Division: Supply & Distribution

Status: Full Time/Hourly Position

POSITION SUMMARY: The Delivery / Warehouse Associate will serve Wabash Steel Supply customers through delivering products directly to customers, as well as daily warehouse operations - including pulling orders, shipping & receiving, and inventory of products throughout the warehouses and storefront.

REPORTS TO: Warehouse Supervisor

SUPERVISES: N/A

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Excellent organization and customer service skills with the ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with fellow employees and customers.
• Accurate pulling of orders daily to complete fulfillment to customers as expected.
• Effective loading and unloading of delivery vehicles or supplier vehicles as required.
• Accurate delivery of products to customers throughout our service area while utilizing company vehicles.
• Accurate completion of the required daily paperwork including packing slips, sales orders, and orders pulled to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Regular and timely attendance is an expectation of the position.
• Other duties as assigned by the Warehouse Supervisor or Director of Supply & Distribution
• Follow the 5S foundations for deploying lean production tools and processes.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

• Previous warehouse, retail or customer service experience is preferred. 

Requirements

COMPETENCIES:

• Strong interpersonal, communication, customer service and organization skills.
• Ability to multitask and adhere to deadlines.
• Self-starter that takes initiative along with analytical skills.
• Valid Driver's License with a clean MVR required.
• Basic forklift, shipping and receiving experience preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Physical Activity: Talking, hearing, repetitive motion, stooping, crouching, standing, walking, lifting, and climbing stairs.
• Physical Requirements: Exerting up to one hundred (100) pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to fifty (50) pounds of force frequently, and/or up to twenty (20) pounds of force constantly to move objects. 
• Visual Acuity: ability to operate machinery and determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned including making general observations of facilities.
