Demo/General Laborer - Boston Resident

We are hiring Demo/General Laborers for work at a construction project located in the city of Boston, that meet the following criteria: 

City of Boston Residents*, people of color and women in and around the Boston Area. Residents of Allston/Brighton, Charlestown, Dorchester, Fenway/Kenmore, Jamaica Plain, Mattapan, Mission Hill/Longwood, Roxbury, South End, Chinatown, East Boston, Hyde Park, Readville, Downtown, North End, South Boston and West Roxbury are encouraged to apply.

*Proof of residency is a requirement - a copy of your current drivers license or MA ID or current utility bill will be accepted as proof and should be submitted with your application. You will need to complete a Boston Resident Verification Form.

Responsibilities:
•Perform tasks involving physical labor at construction sites.
•May operate hand and power tools of all types.
•May clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, set braces to support the sides of excavations, erect scaffolding, and clean up rubble, debris and other waste materials.
•May assist other craft workers.

Qualifications:

• The ability to fluently read, write and speak English.

• Entry Level - No Experience required - We are willing to train you as long as you're coachable! - However, experience in construction or demolition as a laborer or skilled laborer is preferred!


• Must be 18 years or older.


• Must be able to work in, on, around, over and under equipment and machinery.


• Must be able to work from lifts, ladders, and scaffolding.


• Must be able to lift heavy weighted materials/equipment (50 – 70+ lbs.).


• Must be able to work in adverse or extreme weather conditions.


• Must be able to wear and work in personnel protective equipment.


• Must have a vehicle or reliable means of transportation to and from jobsite.


• Must have high regard for safety in the workplace.


• Good attitude: must work well with others and take direction.


• Must be responsible and punctual.
