Demolition Laborer - Short Term Position Guntersville, AL

Stryker DES is seeking qualified candidates to fill short-term Demolition Laborer positions for 8 days with the ability to choose your preferred shift starting on May 5th.  Candidates will report to the Stryker DES field supervisor(s) at our job site in Guntersville, Alabama, and will help deliver Stryker DES’s core values: excellence in service, commitment to health and safety and attention to regulatory compliance. You will have the opportunity to help execute Stryker's core values at an active plant, with the ability to move on to another job site after the conclusion of this project if interested!

We are hiring for the following types of positions:

• Equipment Operators


• Torch Cutters / Burners


• Demolition Laborers


• Fire Watch / Spotters


• Health & Safety Officer

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Be able to safely work in a project team environment and follow direction of a supervisor


• Understand and respond appropriately to all safety hazards, safety plans/documents and warning devices


• Safely use basic demolition tools, equipment, and clean-up materials during demolition work


• Be motivated and work productively and participate in the safety culture


• Perform work activities in chemical, industrial and other commercial facilities


• Adapt to working in hot and cold environments


• Ability to perform manual labor


• Abide by Federal, State and Company rules / safety regulations

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 1-3 years’ experience working on demolition, asbestos or remediation projects


• Experience working with a wide variety of tools for demolition


• Experience working around heavy machinery 


• Physically able to lift/push/pull 50 lbs


• Ability to work productively in personal protective equipment throughout work shift in all weather conditions


• Ability to climb, kneel, stoop, bend, lift, push/pull and/or reach frequently

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE & TRAININGS / CERTIFICATIONS:

• Experience on large industrial demolition projects


• OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour training a plus


• Hazwoper 40 with current 8 Hour refresher


• CPR


• Advanced Health & Safety Certification(s)

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-time hourly position - three shifts available
