In this role, you will assist dentists and hygienists with chairside procedures, prepare and maintain treatment areas, manage supplies and records, and help ensure patients feel comfortable, informed, and respected throughout their visit. Key Responsibilities:
· Assist dentists and hygienists with chairside procedures commonly performed in a general dental practice
· Prepare treatment rooms by setting up instruments, materials, and equipment for scheduled procedures
· Support patients throughout their visit by providing compassionate care, reassurance, and clear communication
· Sterilize dental instruments and maintain cleanliness and routine upkeep of equipment and work areas
· Accurately document patient information, treatment notes, and records in accordance with policy
· Maintain dental supplies by ordering, stocking, and tracking inventory to ensure availability
· Identify and communicate patient medical or social concerns to the dental team as appropriate
· Follow standards and guidelines established by the American Dental Association, Missouri Dental Board, and National Network of Oral Health Access
· Perform additional duties as assigned to support clinic operations and patient care

Education, Experience, and/or Credential Qualifications:
· High School diploma preferred, but not required
· Current CPR certification required
· Previous dental assisting experience preferred, but not required

Additional Qualifications:
· Ability and willingness to learn and expand skills within a dental care setting
· Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients and coworkers
· Ability to follow oral and written instructions accurately
· Ability to motivate and support patients in maintaining oral health
· Ability to prepare and maintain charts, records, logs, and reports
· Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record and current auto insurance
· Successful completion of required background checks, including criminal, driving, abuse/neglect, and fingerprint checks
· Must provide evidence of being free from infectious or contagious diseases, such as TB, prior to employment and annually thereafter
· Ability to complete all required onboarding and annual training requirements

Physical Requirements:
· Ability to perform sedentary work, including exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally
· Frequent repetitive movements of hands, fingers, and arms for dental assisting tasks and documentation
· Ability to sit for extended periods with occasional standing or walking as needed
