Assists the dentist at chair by performing activities including, but not limited to, passing and receiving instruments, oral evacuation and retraction and preparation of materials.
Assists in providing prevention education to the patient.
Assists with or institutes emergency measures for sudden adverse developments during treatment of patients.
Assists with prophylaxis on patients.
Prepares lab boxes and labels for mailing.
Maintains and sterilizes all equipment and instruments.
May participate in community and school activities.
Makes appointments and handles cancellations as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum of six (6) months of clinical or dental experience, or a comparable combination of education and experience.
Ability to demonstrate manual dexterity.
Must demonstrate willingness to learn various dental instruments.
Must be willing to attend workshops and training sessions.
Must be able to demonstrate willingness to work with patients in a friendly and professional manner.
