The Dental Assistant / Front Desk Floater is a versatile team member responsible for supporting both clinical and front office duties within the dental practice. This role ensures seamless patient care by assisting during busy times while also providing exceptional customer service at the front desk as needed. The ideal candidate is organized, adaptable, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering an outstanding patient experience.

Essential Responsibilities


Clinical Duties




  • Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments according to OSHA and CDC guidelines




  • Take patient radiographs




  • Coronal Polishing and Sealants 




  • Record patient medical histories and update dental charts.




  • Prepare and organize instruments, materials, and equipment for procedures.




  • Provide patient education regarding oral hygiene, post-operative care, and treatment plans.




  • Maintain inventory of clinical supplies and notify management when supplies need replenishing.




  • Ensure operatories are clean, organized, and ready for patient care.




Front Desk Duties




  • Greet patients warmly and provide exceptional customer service.




  • Answer incoming phone calls and respond to patient inquiries professionally.




  • Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments.




  • Collect co-pays, payments, and maintain accurate financial records.




  • Check patients in and out efficiently.




  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.




  • Coordinate with the clinical team to ensure an efficient daily schedule.






  • Provide coverage for both clinical and administrative team members as needed.




  • Assist with maintaining office flow during busy periods.




  • Support team members with additional tasks to ensure smooth daily operations.




  • Cross-train in multiple office functions to improve efficiency and flexibility.




  • Demonstrate a positive, team-oriented attitude while adapting to changing priorities.




Qualifications




  • High school diploma or equivalent required.




  • Dental Assistant certification and radiology certification (preferred but not required)




  • Previous dental assisting and/or dental front office experience. (preferred but not required)




  • Experience with dental practice software is preferred.




  • Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.




  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.




  • Professional appearance and commitment to excellent patient care

Position Type: Full-Time 


Hours: Monday - Thursday 7:45 AM - 5 PM 


$18 - $22 an hour
