Your Mission: Leading the Future of Dentistry

Are you a motivated Dental Assistant ready to step into a leadership and mentorship role? At Pima Medical Institute, we aren't just looking for an assistant; we are looking for a visionary educator to shape the next generation of dental professionals. As a Lead Instructor at our Aurora campus, you provide the clinical experience and the passion—we provide the platform to influence program excellence and student success.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Program Oversight

  • Institutional Governance: Facilitate Program Advisory Board meetings; report on student progress, externship outcomes, and feedback from the Colorado Springs dental community.

  • Curriculum Excellence: Lead comprehensive curriculum reviews and recommend updates during program revision cycles to ensure students are learning the most current industry standards.

  • Faculty Mentorship: Orient new hires and serve as a mentor to faculty members, ensuring consistent instructional quality and a supportive teaching environment.

  • Program Effectiveness: Update and maintain Program Effectiveness Plans (PEP) annually to meet institutional and accreditation standards.

Teaching & Student Support

  • Instructional Delivery: Deliver dynamic, engaging lessons using varied teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles.

  • Academic Guidance: Provide timely feedback (within 72 hours) on assignments and clinical work; advise students on academic or behavioral concerns to ensure they remain on track for graduation.

  • Clinical Supervision: Lead lab sessions and practical demonstrations, ensuring students master four/six-handed dentistry principles and radiation safety.

Administrative & Compliance

  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and incidents within the campus management system.

  • Safety & Standards: Ensure all clinical environments meet strict OSHA/infection control standards and oversee student externships at local dental practices.

Who You Are

  • A Clinical Expert: You possess deep knowledge of chairside assisting, dental materials, and Colorado-specific dental practice act regulations.

  • A Strategic Leader: You enjoy the administrative side of education, from coordinating faculty schedules to long-term program planning.

  • A Passionate Mentor: You are dedicated to helping students bridge the gap between the classroom and a professional dental office.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: Graduation from an accredited Dental Assistant program OR a combination of three (3) years of job-related training and experience.

  • Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of full-time, practical dental assisting experience.

  • Certification/Licensure: Current CDA (DANB) or EDDA (Expanded Duties Dental Assistant) credentials as recognized in Colorado.

  • Technical Mastery: Expertise in four/six-handed dentistry principles and proficiency in Microsoft Office/Google Workspace.

Comprehensive Benefits & Compensation

  • Hourly Pay: $23.73 – $29.66 per hour.

  • Health & Wellness: Medical (PPO & HDHP options), Dental, and Vision insurance.

  • Ownership: Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP)—become a partial owner of the company!

  • Retirement: 401(k) Plan with a 10% Employer Match.

  • Work-Life Balance: Paid Time Off (PTO), Paid Sick Leave (PSL), and Holiday Pay.

  • Support: Tuition Reimbursement, Employee Assistance Program (EAP), and Life Insurance.
