Job Description - Dental Assistant, Orthodontics

Description

Anew Dental is a leading dental practice committed to delivering high-quality dental care to our patients. We pride ourselves on our exceptional team of professionals dedicated to creating a comfortable and friendly environment for our patients. We are currently seeking a highly organized dental assistant to join our team and contribute to the continued success of our practice.

This position will require travel to sister locations at: Lockport, Frankfort, Crest Hill, and Yorkville.

Work schedule:

  • M/T/TH/F: 8:30-5:00
  • W: 10:00-7:00

Qualifications:

  • 2 year of experience as a dental assistant required
  • 2 year of orthodontic experience is required
  • Coronal polishing is preferred
  • Familiarity with Dentrix, or other dental software systems is is preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the dentist during dental procedures by preparing treatment rooms, instruments, and materials
  • Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment in compliance with infection control protocols
  • Take and process dental X-rays, ensuring patient safety and accurate diagnostic outcomes
  • Provide chairside assistance during dental procedures, anticipating the dentist's needs and ensuring patient comfort
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene, post-treatment care, and preventive measures
  • Maintain accurate patient records, including medical history and treatment details, in accordance with HIPAA regulations
  • Ensure a clean and organized treatment environment, restocking supplies, and equipment as necessary
