Job Summary:
As a Dental Assistant I, you will play an essential role in supporting dentists, hygienists, and the dental team to deliver exceptional patient care. This position offers the opportunity to engage directly with patients, assist in clinical procedures, maintain accurate records, and contribute to a smooth and efficient dental practice. In this role, you will perform chairside assisting, prepare instruments and equipment, manage inventory, and document patient information accurately. You will support patient comfort and safety during procedures and assist the dental team in delivering high-quality care. Key Responsibilities:
· Assist dentists and hygienists in chairside procedures routinely performed in a general dental practice
· Prepare and set up instruments, materials, and equipment for each procedure
· Maintain accurate patient records and document all treatments and procedures
· Attend to patients with patience, care, compassion, and understanding
· Sterilize instruments and ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of equipment and work areas
· Order, maintain, and track inventory of supplies and materials
· Identify related medical or social issues affecting patient care and coordinate as needed
· Perform all duties in compliance with the American Dental Association, the Missouri Dental Board, and the National Network of Oral Health Access
· Complete other duties as assigned

Education, Experience, and/or Credential Qualifications:
· High school graduation preferred, but not required
· Maintain current CPR certification
· Previous dental assisting experience desired, but not required

Additional Qualifications:
· Ability and willingness to learn and expand abilities
· Ability to establish and maintain effective communication with patients and coworkers
· Ability to follow oral and written instructions
· Strong organizational skills for maintaining charts, records, logs, and reports
· Ability to motivate patients and provide patient-centered care
· Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and patients

Physical Requirements:
· Sedentary work involving sitting most of the time, with occasional walking or standing
· Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 10 pounds
· Repetitive movements of hands, fingers, and arms for typing and writing
· Ability to perform tasks required for sterilization and setup of dental instruments
