Dental Hygiene Assistant

Description

We are seeking a skilled Dental Hygiene Assistant to join our team and assist our dental hygienists in providing exceptional patient care. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented individual with excellent communication skills and a passion for helping others.

Responsibilities:

- Assist dental hygienists during dental procedures, including cleanings, fluoride treatments, and periodontal assessments

- Prepare treatment rooms by ensuring they are clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies and equipment

- Perform coronal polishing and apply topical fluoride

- Take and record medical and dental histories, vital signs, and other relevant information

- Perform dental charting and assist with documentation of treatment plans

- Educate patients on oral hygiene and provide instructions for proper care at home

- Perform related duties involved in the care and maintenance of dental instruments, equipment, and supplies

- Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment according to established protocols.

- Maintain and update dental records and ensure compliance with privacy regulations.

- Collaborate with other members of the dental team to deliver high-quality patient care and achieve practice goals.

- Stay informed about advancements in dental technology, procedures, and regulations through continuing education and training.

- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and following HIPAA guidelines.

- Take and process x-rays.

- Placement of sealants.

- Any other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

1. Current, unencumbered State of Kansas or National Certified or Registered Dental Assistant Credentials, preferred.
2. CPR certification for Health Care Providers, required.
3. Current vaccination record meeting ACIP Healthcare Workers Recommendations
