Dental Hygienist

The Smile Care Dental Hygienist is responsible for:

Dental Hygienists are responsible for providing hands-on support to Dentists and completing prep work so they can more efficiently care for patients. Dental hygienists administer patient care during cleanings and oral surgery. Educate patients about procedures and dental maintenance, order x-rays and other scans. 

Responsibilities:

• Screening patients during checkups
• Reviewing a patient’s dental history
• Recommending care to improve a patient’s oral health 
• Teaching patients about proper teeth cleaning techniques
• Performing preventive dental care
• Applying fluoride treatments 
• Taking x-rays and reviewing them for signs of dental diseases

Skills & Qualifications:

• Strong periodontal skills
• Knowledge of ultrasonic instrumentation
• Knowledge of laser, intraoral photography
• Know how to promote needed treatment to your patients and work the recall system 
• Proficient computer skills
• Digital x-rays and Eaglesoft is beneficial 
• Verbal and written communications skills
• Problem solving skills
• The ability to convey complex health information in a simple way
• The ability to interact with patients of all ages 
• 3+ years chairside experience in a private dental practice (Required) 
• Bilingual is a plus

Education:

• Bachelors Required
• Florida State License
