Dental Hygienist

Cedar Park Med is seeking an experienced Dental Hygienist to provide comprehensive oral hygiene care in a clinical setting. The ideal candidate will be skilled in patient care, including working with individuals who have physical and mental conditions, and dedicated to promoting preventative oral health practices.

Schedule/Shift:
One-year contract with up to six (6) one-year renewals.
Estimated 28 hours per week, 3.5 days per week (Monday–Friday) during daytime clinic hours, 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.

Responsibilities:

• 
  

  Perform cleanings using hand and mechanized instruments, removing all traces of calculus, deposits, accretions, and stains from teeth.

  
  


• 
  

  Conduct instrumental examinations and chart conditions of teeth and surrounding tissues, noting carious lesions, periodontal pockets, and other abnormalities.

  
  


• 
  

  Perform patient screenings using X-ray technology.

  
  


• 
  

  Administer prescribed medicaments to the gingival and apply desensitizing agents.

  
  


• 
  

  Instruct patients on preventative oral hygiene and oral physical therapy, including brushing, flossing, and toothbrush care.

  
  


• 
  

  Maintain accurate patient records in a computer database, documenting dental history, conditions, and services rendered.

  
  


• 
  

  Clean, sharpen, and sterilize instruments.

  
  

Requirements:

• 
  

  Must be certified to practice dental hygiene by the Arkansas State Board of Dental Examiners.

  
  


• 
  

  Minimum of two (2) years of experience providing comprehensive dental hygiene services.

  
  


• 
  

  Experience working with patients with physical and mental conditions.
