Job Description - Department Manager - Suppression Inspections

Suppression Inspections Department Manager

Performance Systems Integration (PSI) is a leading provider of Fire and Life Safety solutions across the Pacific Northwest. For over fifteen years, we have delivered code-compliant fire protection services to ensure our clients’ facilities remain safe, operational, and fully compliant with local regulations and standards.

We are currently seeking a Suppression Inspections Department Manager to lead our fire suppression inspections team. This person will be responsible for managing inspection schedules, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting high levels of customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership skills, technical knowledge of suppression systems, and a balance of field expertise and operational strategy.

Responsibilities

-Lead and manage the suppression inspections team, including field inspectors and administrative staff
-Achieve department performance goals such as on-time inspections, compliance, utilization, and customer satisfaction
-Oversee daily inspection scheduling and optimize technician routing for maximum efficiency
-Build strong relationships with commercial, industrial, and specialized clients to support ongoing business
-Ensure all inspections meet NFPA standards and local code requirements
-Conduct routine field visits and audits to mentor team members and ensure quality control
-Maintain ongoing relationships with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) to stay ahead of compliance changes
-Collaborate with other service departments to ensure unified customer service and support
-Work with the Operations Manager on budget planning, performance reporting, and cost control
-Identify and implement process improvements and inspection best practices

Qualifications

-Technical knowledge of fire suppression systems and inspection protocols
-1+ years of supervisory or team leadership experience, preferably in inspections or field services
-Experience with route-based scheduling software; ServiceTrade experience is a plus
-High school diploma or GED required; a degree in fire protection, business, or a related field preferred
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general business systems
-Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with clients and teams
-Understanding of budgeting and operational metrics for inspection services
-Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
