Job Title:  Depot Coordinator


Location: Santa Ana, CA (On-Site)


Employment Type: Full-time, 3-month contract (LOA coverage)

At the heart of our client's mission and impact, is the Depot for Creative Reuse in Santa Ana, where donated materials from individuals and businesses are transformed into engaging STEAM learning experiences for students. By giving these materials a second life, CCL encourages creativity, innovation, and environmental responsibility.


In 2024, our client diverted more than 8,200 pounds of material from local landfills while providing creativity-enhancing workshops to over 30,000 students. The Depot Coordinator plays a key role in this work by managing donated materials, maintaining an organized and welcoming Depot, and supporting day-to-day operations.


 


Role Overview: The Depot Coordinator supports daily Depot operations and serves as the primary point of contact for visitors. This role balances materials management (60%) and administrative support (40%), including inventory control, material tracking, donation intake and processing, membership management, volunteer support, and general operational coordination. As part of Child Creativity Lab’s fast-paced, mission-driven environment, the Depot Coordinator must be highly organized, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities while providing excellent customer service and helping maintain an efficient, welcoming Depot.


Core Responsibilities:



  • Customer Service & Administration

  • Greet visitors and provide front desk coverage

  • Answer and direct phone calls

  • Schedule and facilitate membership appointments

  • Perform computer-based work – maintain membership tracker and material
    donation tracker

  • Communicate regularly with Operations Team members
    Materials Management

  • Organize material shelves in Depot lobby

  • Process material donations from individuals, including accepting, weighing,
    sorting, and storing materials

  • Organize, inventory, and track materials throughout the warehouse

  • Coordinate material collection drives with community and corporate partners

  • Collaborate with the Education Manager to review and update kit material
    lists based on current inventory levels



Physical Responsibilities
This position requires regular physical activity, including:



  • Frequently lifting, carrying, and moving items weighing 11-25 lbs.

  • Occasionally lifting, carrying, and moving items weighing up to 50 lbs.

  • Moving heavy boxes and storage totes

  • Standing, bending, stooping, and reaching for extended periods

  • Working in a warehouse environment that is not air-conditioned

  • Transporting boxes and totes of materials up and down stairs

  • Using a step ladder to access materials stored on upper shelves



Volunteer Support



  • Plan volunteer tasks for both in-Depot and take-home work

  • Support the Volunteer Coordinator with:

    • Setting up kit assembly line

    • Volunteer events and activities





Facility Support





  •  


    Replace air purifier and coffee filters as needed

    Refill kitchenette water bottles as needed

     





Additional Requirements:


Assist Operations Coordinator with:


  • Transporting materials to and from off-site storage in Orange

  • Packing program kits and supporting year-end inventory processes

  • Picking up donated materials from corporate partners when needed

  • Perform administrative tasks as directed by the Leadership Team

  • Assist with off-site corporate volunteer and other special events as needed

  • Perform other duties as assigned


 


Qualifications: 




  • Valid driver's license and proof of automobile insurance REQUIRED

  • Reliable means of transportation REQUIRED

Compensation:


The projected hourly range is estimated at $25.00 per hour.
