Job Description - Deputy Building Inspector

The Greenridge Group, a prime contractor and consulting firm specializing in Project and Construction Management is seeking a Deputy Building Inspector to join our team. We deliver fully integrated Program management solutions to both public and private sector clients, including serving as the prime contractor for several public sector clients.

About the Role:

This role provide special inspection support for LAWA’s Quality Assurance and Construction Inspection Division across multiple capital improvement projects. This role requires deep knowledge of building codes, multiple deputy licenses, and the ability to work across diverse construction disciplines and shifts.

*Salary Range: $150K/Year-$160K/Year - Dependent on Candidate's Qualifications

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily special inspections in accordance with LADBS requirements (Concrete, Steel, Drilled-in Anchors/Seismic Resistance, Spray-Applied Fireproofing).
  • Prepare clear and comprehensive daily inspection reports (who, what, when, where, how).
  • Review contractor progress payment requests and track changes, job quantities, and time/material work.
  • Ensure compliance with building codes, safety standards, and LAWA requirements.
  • Use PM Information Systems (PMWeb, Bluebeam, Adobe Pro) for inspection documentation.
  • Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and city officials on complex construction projects.

Qualifications

  • Required Licenses: Valid LADBS Deputy Licenses in:
    • Concrete Construction
    • Steel Construction
    • Drilled-in Anchors / Seismic Resistance
    • Spray-Applied Fireproofing
      (Other deputy licenses preferred)
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years as a Deputy Building Inspector on large-scale construction projects.
  • Education/Training: High school diploma (or equivalent), CAL OSHA-30 (within last 4 years), fall protection and harness training, confined space entry training.
  • Other Requirements:
    • Must obtain LAWA SIDA badge prior to start of work.
    • Ability to work day, swing, or night shifts, including weekends/overtime as required.
    • Strong computer proficiency for reviewing submittals, RFIs, change orders, and inspection documents.
