Job Description - Deputy Chief Medical Officer

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Chief Medical Officer (DCMO) to support the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) in leading our medical team and advancing the strategic goals of our healthcare organization. The Deputy CMO will play a key role in overseeing clinical operations, driving quality improvement initiatives, and collaborating with other executives to optimize patient care delivery. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a seasoned physician leader to contribute to the success and growth of our organization.

Qualifications:
Qualifications

Clinical Leadership:

Assist the CMO in providing strategic leadership to the medical team, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.

Clinical Oversight:

Oversee specific clinical departments or programs, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care in accordance with best practices and regulatory requirements.

Quality Improvement:

Lead and participate in quality improvement initiatives, analyzing clinical data, identifying opportunities for improvement, and implementing evidence-based strategies to enhance clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction.

Physician Engagement:

Collaborate with the CMO to foster a culture of physician engagement, professional development, and teamwork, promoting a positive and supportive work environment.

Clinical Governance:

Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical governance structures, policies, and processes to ensure accountability, transparency, and compliance with regulatory standards.

Collaboration:

Work closely with other members of the executive team, department heads, and stakeholders to develop and implement integrated healthcare solutions, programs, and initiatives.

Risk Management:

Assist in the development and implementation of risk management strategies to mitigate clinical, operational, and legal risks, promoting patient safety and quality of care.

Education and Training:

Provide clinical leadership and support for medical education and training programs, mentoring residents, fellows, and medical staff to promote professional development and excellence in patient care.

Community Engagement:

Represent the organization in the community, building strong relationships with key stakeholders, and participating in public health initiatives, education, and advocacy efforts.

Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.

Board certification in a medical specialty.

Proven leadership experience in healthcare management or clinical leadership roles, with at least [X] years of experience preferred.

Strong clinical background with expertise in quality improvement, patient safety, and clinical governance.

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and team-building skills.

Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders to achieve common goals.

Knowledge of healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and quality improvement methodologies.

Commitment to continuous learning, professional development, and excellence in patient care.

Advanced degree in healthcare management, business administration, or related field preferred.

Compensation | Min: $157,000 Max: $293,000

Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographical market data.

This position is eligible for our comprehensive and competitive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Additional benefits include a 401k plan and paid time off and annual bonus. International SOS complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws.
