and Consulting is a Tier 1 service provider to the U.S. Department of Energy, we deliver safe and innovative solutions at complex nuclear cleanup and production sites. Our services include program management, decommissioning, environmental remediation, waste and nuclear material management, nuclear operations, consulting, and engineering and construction.
We’re looking for a Project Engineering Manager, ideally with experience in DOE/government construction experience. You will work onsite at the SFHP project office near Scoville, ID as part of onsite construction support for Title 3 activities. This position requires someone that can manage a multi-disciplined staff of engineers working on different tasks that support multiple contracts in different phases of construction. You will be assigned a Control Account Manager for an E/A subconsultant. Critical to this position is the ability to adroitly solve complex issues with the client. Other day to day functions include dispositioning Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), performing assessments on existing design, responding to RFIs, issuing Design Change Notices (DCNs). Duties also include coordination with Quality Assurance on inspections/observations and supporting development of Scopes of Work for subcontracts with procurement and Construction groups. Other project functions include the following tasks: scoping and estimating level of engineering effort; field work to assess existing conditions; report writing; potential re-design based on requirements and constructability; review of design development of drawings, specifications, and calculation analyses; assistance with cost estimating; and services during bidding and construction, including answering requests for information, bid review, shop drawing review, commissioning support, hosting progress meetings, and project closeout.Additionally, you will follow established Jacobs quality procedures. The work will be performed in Idaho with potentially some travel. Join us and love what you do. Here’s what you’ll need :
B.S. in Engineering required
15 or more years of engineering experience is required
US citizenship required

(to comply with government customer requirements and/or applicable government regulations)
Engineering Registration (PE) required in state of Idaho, or ability to quickly obtain an Idaho PE via reciprocity
Demonstrated experience of delivering a range of projects from concept through detailed design completion
Able to lead groups of engineers and designers to complete technical portions of projects within established budgets and schedules.
Experience working within a quality system based on ISO 9000 or NQA-1
General understanding of discipline specific technical software
Competent using Microsoft Office software
Knowledge of building and design codes, including IBC, IMS, UPC, NFPA, and ASME
Preferred qualifications:
Experience in industrial/government (DOE) design
Experience with leading technical discussions with client
Ability to author proposals and Statements of work
A person residing a commutable distance from our SFHP project office in Southeast Idaho is preferred
DOE experience is desirable but not required.
Essential Functions:
Intermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, and lifting. Lifting requirements limited to 20 lbs. in the form of supplies, drawings, etc. Longest distance carried of 50 feet. Hand manipulation is required for simple grasping, pushing and pulling, and fine manipulation. Right and/or left hands utilized. Occasional need to reach and/or work above the shoulder, for supplies, as well as below the shoulder for same. No foot controls necessary. Must be alert to equipment in the field, there will be occasional travel, will work near construction job site equipment when in the field, occasional need to work near hazardous equipment and machinery, occasional need to walk on uneven ground, exposure to dust, gas or fumes, exposure to noise, extremes in temperature or humidity, and potential work at heights.
