Dermatology Medical Assistant - Cornelius, NC

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs and gathering medical histories.
• Assist the physician during examinations and procedures, ensuring all necessary tools and equipment are ready.
• Perform basic laboratory tests and prepare specimens for analysis.
• Maintain accurate and confidential patient records.
• Schedule appointments and manage office communications effectively.
• Provide patient education on treatment plans, medication usage, and appropriate skincare.
• Ensure that examination rooms are clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.

• High school diploma or equivalent; certification as a Medical Assistant is preferred.
• Previous experience as a Medical Assistant or in a healthcare setting is desired.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, particularly in dermatology.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective patient interaction.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality.
• Excellent organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
• Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) and standard office software is a plus.
