We seeking an Automotive Designer for our Springfield, OH facility.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for design and development of automotive body, and pillar structures. Able to conform to the formability / productivity to provide feedback to negotiate any required changes. Coordination between all internal departments concerning the design, testing, tooling, manufacturing, production, and shipment of all finished goods, including; test and trial parts to the Warehouse and customer site.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Daily Management of Product Design, Development and Change
- Daily Coordination between customers and internal departments as needed
- Responsible for writing any internal design change documents to start the design change process.
- Daily Support / Coordination of other departments’ production.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
- Must have excellent PC skills, including; Excel, PowerPoint
- Minimum of 2-3 years’ CAD experience
- MUST utilize CATIA V5. (NX software is optional; and appreciated)
- Working Knowledge of Vehicle Body Structures
- Understanding of Automotive Steel Materials; especially High Tensile Steel Material.
- Familiar with the Welding Process (Resistance welding)
- Ability to Negotiate and Communicate with Customers, Vendors as well as other facilities and departments
- Self-Starter with Effective Time Management Skills
- Scheduling Management expert
- Should be Organized and Detailed oriented
- Excellent Communicator
Preferred
- Previous Automotive design experience with passenger vehicles
- Siemens NX CAD experience is a plus
- Thorough knowledge of vehicle performance and function along with its regulations
- Experience working with a Japanese company OR with Japanese people
- Plastics working (Press)
- Forming simulation skills. AutoForm is preferred
- Credentials (Education and experience necessary to perform the job)
- Minimum of an Associate’s degree, 3 years vehicle design experience
