We’re looking for our next Design Engineer/Prototyper who brings together a foundation in development with design sensibilities, and a passion for building.
As a Design Engineer, you will be responsible for building and delivering high-quality, visually polished learner experiences. We’re looking for a self-starter, who not only writes great code, but also brings together ideas and design sensibility, and can translate them into new features and intuitive user interfaces. You should have a deep understanding of user-centered design principles, and will be highly GenAI-enabled, leveraging AI coding and design tools to speed up and improve work. You will help us rapidly prototype, iterate, and ship high quality features and experiences.
You’ll be involved in the early stages of product development, working closely with the Product team to help identify, scope, and develop new features to improve the user experience and deepen the value of our products.
Here’s what you’ll do:
- Prototype in code, test, and launch new features and products.
- Help develop a user-centered platform that delivers the best experience in learning and building with AI.
- Tackle complex user interaction problems and design effective solutions.
- Create UI interface and interaction flows for a learner-centered design.
- Contribute to a high-quality code base, and support it with clear documentation.
- Stay current with the latest AI technology and explore how it can improve the learner experience.
Here are the skills you should have:
- Familiarity with AI assisted coding, and high fluency with tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Windsurf, design tools including Figma, and rapid prototyping tools like v0 and Replit.
- Familiarity with React.js, Next.js, TypeScript, and CSS (experience with Tailwind preferred).
- A track record in both development and design, with a portfolio of work.
- Strong grasp of user-centered design principles.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- A genuine interest in Artificial Intelligence technologies.
Bonus if you have:
- Experience leading design projects and collaborating cross-functionally.
- An innovative mindset and drive to continually build products with excellent user experience.
