Job Description - Desk Top Specialist
Responsibilities
Hardware & Software Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve hardware issues such as computer, printer, and peripheral device problems. Identify and fix software issues, including operating system errors and application malfunctions. Reinstall or update software and drivers as needed.System Setup & Configuration: Install and configure desktops, laptops, and other end-user devices. Set up new workstations, including the installation of operating systems and software applications. Ensure all devices are properly connected to the network and configured for user requirements.User Support & Training: Provide on-site or remote support to end-users for technical issues. Assist users with common tasks such as email setup, software usage, and file management. Offer training sessions and create guides to help users understand and utilize their systems effectively.Maintenance & Upgrades: Perform regular maintenance tasks like disk cleanups, defragmentation, and hardware checks. Upgrading hardware components or software to improve performance or resolve compatibility issues. Ensuring all devices have the latest security patches and antivirus updates installed.Asset Management: Keep track of all desktop and laptop inventory, including peripherals and accessories. Manage the lifecycle of devices from acquisition to disposal, ensuring proper handling and data security.Perform other related duties as assigned.
