Detail Technician

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Works cooperatively with team members to ensure new, used, and service vehicles are properly prepared and ready for customer pick-up or to be delivered to the lot or showroom.


• May run errands or make deliveries/pick-ups, as assigned due to operational needs.


• Is respectful and professional in appearance, language, grooming, and business relationships.


• Good work ethic, excellent teamwork skills, strong attention to detail, and willingness to perform various duties as assigned.


• Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

• Valid Illinois Driver’s License


• Excellent, spotless driving record (no speeding tickets, DUI convictions, moving violations, etc.)


• Effective verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.


• Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.


• Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.


• High school diploma or GED required.

Environmental and Physical Requirements:

• Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.


• Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.


• The physical requirements of the job include, but are not limited to: Sitting, standing, talking, walking, hearing/listening, bending, twisting, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, kneeling, and the ability to use a computer and telephone.


• Ability to work in all weather conditions, be subject to extreme cold and extreme heat while performing the job.


• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

Tasks:

• shampoo carpets and upholstery, and vacuum floors and seats.


• Wash, wax, machine polish, shampoo carpets, leather repair, wet sanding, windows


• Cleaned engine and engine compartments to remove grease and grime, and applied special purpose cleaners to remove foreign materials.


• Looking for someone who knows their way around a detail shop... waxing, buffing, minor repairs.
