DETAILER/CAR WASHER

Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for efficient processing of vehicles thru the Detail Shop while maintaining a high standard of quality.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for wearing and using the proper safety equipment
• Responsible for using the appropriate tools to remove decals and stickers as required
• Responsible for evaluating vehicles and determining if license plates/plate brackets and writing on windows of vehicles need to be removed and placed in designated containers.
• Responsible for maintaining the flow of shop production
• Responsible for maintaining a standard of quality
• Contributes to and encourages others to demonstrate a team focused, values based service culture throughout the company.
• Contributes to effective operations by providing support where and when as needed on sale/customer promotion dates.
• Maintains confidentiality of all records regarding employee and/or customer information.
• Other duties/responsibilities as assigned to assure efficient shop operations.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Language Skills

Requires the ability to communicate verbally and in written format accurately in English. Position requires ability to read and comprehend written work orders. Position requires the ability to communicate respectfully and positively with AAAKC staff, management, and customers.

Reasoning Ability

Position requires the use of common sense understanding to carry out verbal and written instructions

Position requires the use of common sense and established safety guidelines understanding when operating shop equipment, shop tools, chemicals and motor vehicles

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Requires the ability to operate compressed air hose, heat gun, razor blades, screwdrivers, and vacuum cleaners
• Performing the duties of this job requires walking, sitting, standing, crouching, kneeling, and bending on a daily basis and frequently for extended periods of time
• Performing the duties of this job requires the use of hands for reaching, handling, fingering and feeling on a daily basis
• Performing the duties of this job occasionally required the lifting and moving of up to 50 pounds
• Performing the duties of this job requires close/distant vision and the ability to adjust focus and depth perception.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• The noise level is medium to heavy
• The physical exertion is medium to heavy
• Work is performed in a work-shop setting with frequent expose to all types of weather conditions
• Work performed requires the use of industrial grade chemicals
• Work is performed in close proximity to moving vehicles
