Detention Specialist

Essential Duties and Responsibilities, include but are not limited to:

• Monitoring Detention Alert system
• Monitoring customers with high delay frequency
• Communicating with Operations to verify data
• Communicating requests to customers
• Being aware of customers’ specific assessorial schedules.
• Processing approvals for billing and driver compensation

• High school diploma with 2-3 years of experience working in a logistics or transportation company
• Four year college degree from an accredit college or university (preferred)
• Excellent communication skills
• A strong sense of urgency
• Technical proficiency in MS Office Suite with a high aptitude for MS Excel
• McLeod Software is (highly recommended)
• Organized use of company email

A Successful Detention Specialist must consistently demonstrate the company’s Mission and Values.  They must have good oral and written communication skills in order to effectively interact with customers, drivers and other team members in person and on the telephone. They must be customer service-oriented as well as team-oriented and must have good organizational skills. A successful Detention Specialist must be able to effectively manage freight and pay attention to details. Finally, they must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
