Job Description - Developer Support Engineer



InterSystems seeks candidates who are creative, motivated, and energetic problem solvers to join a group of experts supporting development, implementation, and operation of public and private healthcare database and integration projects, both in the U.S. and internationally.


These projects use InterSystems HealthShare family of products for storing, exchanging, and analyzing data to implement solutions for private and public hospitals and state-wide and country-wide healthcare networks.


As a member of a worldwide team, you will develop your technical and professional skills within an environment of teamwork, cooperation, and fun. You will help customers support their live/production and test systems.

* Work with a broad range of proven and cutting-edge technologies, both proprietary and non-proprietary, in the areas of object-oriented programming, Web, databases, networking, storage, high availability, and performance; the technologies will include ObjectScript, SQL, HL7, IHE, FHIR, SOAP, XSLT, JSON, REST, JavaScript, and OAuth.


* Collaborate with other areas of the company responsible for Software Development, Quality Development, Product Management, and Sales Engineering.


* Be provided with training to develop your technical and professional skills so that you will have a successful technical career. Your training may include classroom or online learning, training exercises, and working on actual customer problems with the guidance of your assigned mentor and your colleagues.


Your primary activity will be to investigate, debug, and solve problems reported by customers. The problems typically take a few calendar days or weeks to solve and close. You will typically have five to ten open problems that you are making progress on. For some, you may be trying to reproduce a problem or be reviewing code. For others, you may be waiting for a customer to provide the information that you requested or waiting for Development to provide a fix.


 


Requirements:


* Solid understanding of computers and programming. Understanding of databases a plus.


* Ability to figure things out and debug code written by others.


* Be organized and meticulous.


* Ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally.
