Upper Valley Haven is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preventing homelessness, alleviating poverty, and advancing food security throughout the Upper Valley region of Vermont and New Hampshire. Through housing, shelter, food access, and supportive services, we help individuals and families build stability and opportunity. 


We are seeking a highly organized, relationship-oriented Development & Stewardship Coordinator to join our Development & Communications team. This position plays an important role in strengthening donor relationships, supporting fundraising efforts, coordinating grant activities, and helping ensure the smooth operation of the department. 





This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys balancing project coordination, donor engagement, communications, and administrative work while contributing to a mission-driven organization. 





What You'll Do 


Donor Stewardship & Engagement 



  • Welcome and steward new donors. 



  • Make thank-you calls and support personalized donor outreach. 



  • Coordinate donor meetings, tours, and cultivation activities. 



  • Support donor acknowledgment and recognition efforts. 



  • Track donor engagement and stewardship activities in the donor database. 


Grants & Foundation Support 



  • Assist with grant proposals and reports. 



  • Maintain grant calendars and reporting deadlines. 



  • Coordinate collection of program data and supporting documentation. 



  • Support grant tracking and foundation stewardship activities. 


Development Operations & Administration 



  • Prepare materials for Board and Development Committee meetings. 



  • Take meeting minutes and track follow-up items. 



  • Coordinate calendars, scheduling, and department communications. 



  • Monitor and triage the Development inbox. 



  • Support fundraising events and volunteer coordination. 


Fundraising Campaigns & Communications 



  • Assist with annual appeals and fundraising campaigns. 



  • Coordinate donor mailings and stewardship communications. 



  • Generate reports and donor lists from fundraising systems. 



  • Support communications projects and special initiatives throughout the year. 





What We're Looking For 


Required Qualifications 



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. 



  • 2–5 years of experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, communications, project coordination, administration, or a related field. 



  • Strong organizational and project-management skills. 



  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. 



  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities. 



  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. 



  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally. 


Preferred Qualifications 



  • Experience in nonprofit fundraising or donor relations. 



  • Experience supporting grant writing and reporting. 



  • Familiarity with Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce, or similar donor-management software. 



  • Experience coordinating events, campaigns, or donor engagement activities.

Compensation 


$25.00-$27.00 per hour, based on qualifications and experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package, including:
