Children’s Therapy Center looking for a Development Assistant to join our Development and Marketing Team. Reporting to the Director of Fund Development, the Development Assistant plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth functioning of development operations. This position is responsible for supporting donor engagement through timely and accurate gift entry, data management, and donor acknowledgements. The Development Assistant helps advance the mission of Children’s Therapy Center by contributing to a positive and seamless experience for donors, and by supporting efforts to cultivate and steward strong relationships with CTC’s community of supporters. 

Requirements

Primary Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor records in the CRM/database, including contact details, giving history, demographics, and interactions.
• Process and acknowledge all donations in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with stewardship timelines and sponsorship recognition packages.
• Support donor database clean-up and maintenance efforts to improve data quality and segmentation.
• Log and process in-kind donations, ensuring proper documentation and timely acknowledgments.
• Generate mailing lists, reports, and lists to support donor outreach, stewardship, and campaign tracking.
• Assist with reconciliation activities (as needed) related to month-end, annual, and year-end fundraising reports.
• Monitor local media for news related to philanthropic trends, key donors, and prospective supporters.
• Assist in managing donor engagement calendars and coordinate donor contacts such as thank-you calls, handwritten notes, and impact updates.
• Support the preparation of donor briefings, profiles, and meeting materials for leaders in advance of donor interactions.
• Support the creation and mailing of donor solicitation and stewardship communications.
• Assist with planning and execution of fundraising campaigns, including coordinating mailings, email campaigns, and tracking responses.
• Support special event logistics such as invitation distribution, online RSVP tracking, event-day preparation, and post-event follow-up.
• Maintain inventory of development and marketing collateral and event materials, restocking or reordering as needed.
• Provide general administrative support to the Development and Marketing team, including scheduling meetings, maintaining contact records, and preparing materials for internal and external use.
• Serve as a point of contact for donor inquiries, ensuring warm, professional, and timely responses.
• Assist with coordination of social media and website content related to fundraising campaigns and donor recognition in collaboration with Social Media and Marketing partners.

Demonstrable experience and other qualifications:

• BA preferred with minimum of 1-3 years of experience in an area related to office administrative support, development, project management or event coordination. Equivalent work experience will be considered.
• 1–3 years of relevant experience in fundraising, development, administrative support, or nonprofit work preferred.
• Experience with donor databases (e.g., Raiser’s Edge, DonorPerfect, Salesforce, or similar CRM systems) is strongly preferred.
• Desire to participate in fundraising operations with limited face-to-face interaction
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Suite, Project Management tools such as Asana, Smartsheet a plus.
• Ability to work collaboratively, as well as independently.
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to convey thoughts and express ideas effectively using various oral, written, visual, and/or non-verbal skills.
• Effective listening skills, including the ability to recognize, comprehend and appreciate various perspectives and diverse points of view.
• Organized and detail oriented, with the ability to organize work to meet various commitments and responsibilities.
• Ability to anticipate potential challenges, and adjust to changes as needed.

Additional Information

This is a full-time position that requires a minimum of three full day per week working onsite – typically, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday each week. Remote work may be available for up to two days per week – typically, Monday and Friday; subject to change depending on Organization needs. The primary office is located in Burien, Washington; however, the role involves travel between office locations in Burien, Kent, Maple Valley, and Tacoma, as well as throughout South King and Pierce County for meetings and events.

Compensation & Benefits:

Children’s Therapy Center offers equitable and competitive pay commensurate with job-related experience and education. The pay rate range for this position is $23.83-35.38 per hour dependent on related experience and education.
