Job Description - Development Associate

Description

Position Summary:   

The Development Associate (hereafter DA) is responsible for all aspects of the donor database (Raiser’s Edge), various aspects of the moves management process and some assistance with events; all towards building revenue. The DA will also provide administrative support to the Director of Development (DoD). This position is for a team player with a variety of skills, a focus on detail and accuracy and a desire to help move the organization forward. Above all, the DA has the opportunity to share with champions the grace of God shown through His work at Hope House, and to give champions an opportunity to experience relationship with God through their giving.

What you'll be doing

Database Responsibilities

  • Manage constituent records in Raiser’s Edge (RE) with accuracy and in a timely fashion (i.e., add new constituent records; clean up data; manage inactives, do not mail and deceased records)
  • Input gifts – code checks and online giving; corporate match EFT distributions; gift cards; running reoccurring monthly Bedrock Builder gifts; running Capital Campaign pledges/pledge payments; event registration and gifts
  • Assist in sending out Direct Mail communications - analyze outcomes and update metrics
  • Reporting – provide month end reports to Director of Development and Finance Team
  • Complete month end and year end reconciliation with Finance Team timely and accurately. Send monthly and annual donor letters and receipts.

Moves Management Responsibilities:

  • Work with the DoD to strategically utilize the champion database (Raiser’s Edge) to help drive champion and revenue growth
  • Attend weekly Prospect Review meetings with DoD, Executive Director, Volunteer Manager, Development Officer and Grant Development Officer
  • Pull DoD prospect and action lists in Raiser’s Edge
  • Update action steps for DoD from meetings and phone calls on a weekly basis
  • Champion (donor) moves management and PEO reporting and coding
  • Manage In Honor and In Memory gifts process – update plaques, family notifications, and appreciation process

Admin Support:

  • Responsible for opening and distributing mail & following GAAP policies to accurately receive & track monetary contributions
  • Handle administrative duties for DoD such as expense reporting, meeting and calendar requests, phone follow up, and other duties as assigned
  • Responsible for managing RE or data collection/input volunteers; building relationships; reporting volunteer notes and hours to the Volunteer Manager

Event Responsibilities:

  • Maintain Program of Events (POE) with up-to-date information on all aspects of events
  • Create event budget and track expenditures
  • Maintain a receipt log at events noting payer name, amount, date received, and reason for payment, if applicable
  • Work with Finance Team to reconcile expenses before, during, and after the event
  • Work with DoD to gather needed event reports

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Promote the values of HHC throughout the organization and external relationships
  • Input relevant data into Development and Program databases
  • Demonstrate ability to work independently and within a team, seeking guidance as appropriate
  • Comply with all organizational policies and procedures

Salary Range

$45,000-$53,000/year

Benefits

Employees who are regularly scheduled to work 24 hours per week or more are eligible for the below benefits

  • Health Benefits: Employees may elect medical, dental, vision & life insurance plans.
  • Simple IRA: Employees may choose to make salary reduction contributions through HHC’s Simple IRA plan and HHC will match the employee’s contribution up to a maximum of 3% of the employee’s annual salary.
  • Vacation: Upon hire, employees earn 6 hours of vacation per paycheck up to 120 hours (3 weeks) in a year. Accruals are adjusted to increase vacation earned per hours worked based on length of employment with HHC.
  • Holidays: HHC observes eleven (11) holidays throughout the year. Salaried employees are paid for these holidays according to the nationally recognized observation day for each holiday. In addition, salaried employees are currently gifted either the week of Christmas or the week of New Year’s off, to be scheduled at the discretion of their supervisor.
  • Sick Leave: HHC provides eligible employees with Paid Sick and Safe Leave (PSSL) and Public Health Emergency Leave (PHEL) in accordance with the requirements of Colorado's Healthy Families and Workplaces Act (HFWA).
  • Employer Based Childcare: Employer Based Childcare: Employees receive a discount for their child(ren)’s child care tuition if they are enrolled in the Hope House Colorado Early Learning Center.
  • Hope House Colorado is a qualifying employer for the federal Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program! HHC provides employees with free assistance navigating the PSLF program to submit their federal student loans for forgiveness
