Job Description - Development Associate

Join Our Team as a Development Associate at The Arc of Ocean County!

The Arc of Ocean County is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Development Associate to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will play a key part in advancing our mission to enhance the lives of individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities through fundraising, donor engagement, event support, and overall development initiatives.

This position is open to full-time or part-time candidates and is based in-person at our Brick office, with potential for hybrid or remote work in the future. Typical hours align with standard business hours, though occasional evenings or weekends will be required to support events. Local travel within Ocean County is also necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in planning and executing fundraising campaigns and special events.
  • Maintain accurate donor records and manage donor communications.
  • Create and manage content for digital marketing and social media initiatives.
  • Support grant writing and reporting efforts.
  • Collaborate with the team on strategies for donor acquisition and retention.
  • Coordinate volunteer activities and community outreach.
  • Develop materials, reports, and presentations for stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Communications, Marketing, Business, or related field (preferred)
  • 1–3 years of experience in development, fundraising, or the nonprofit sector (preferred)
  • Proficiency in Canva (required)
  • Experience with event planning and organization (preferred)
  • Social media and digital marketing experience (required)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with donor management software (e.g., Bloomerang) and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Exceptional organizational skills and high attention to detail
  • Passion for supporting individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities
