Job Description - Development Manager

Celebrating our 115th anniversary, PBC is an award-winning education center that provides exceptional outdoor experiences for young people from historically marginalized communities.
SUMMARY
The

Development Manager

is responsible for managing the fundraising events and volunteer development efforts of the Princeton-Blairstown Center (PBC). The Development Manager will grow signature events with an eye towards deepening guests’ understanding of and engagement with the Center and cultivate partnerships that promote growth and awareness within the community.

The Development Manager will play a critical role in fundraising event execution, development operations, and donor communications.
MAJOR DUTIES
• Oversee all aspects of organization-wide fundraising events (Soiree Under the Stars, Links to Youth Golf Outing, and an additional event TBD) each year, including managing volunteers, coordinating with venue, preparing budget, securing sponsors and donors, tracking and reporting registration and income progress, organizing day-of-event logistics, drafting necessary talking points, providing all follow up to donors and participants, and debriefing after the event with volunteers and staff.
• Create promotional materials for events such as invitations, programs, and donor recognition. Order collateral materials related to fundraising events including signage, prizes, and donor thank you gifts. Solicit in-kind donations for events.
• Coordinate event publicity by developing and executing a marketing plan for fundraising events, including promotional materials, websites, social media, public relations, and email communications.
• Manage the re-formation of a Young Professionals Committee (YPC) and oversee the revision of the YPC chartering documents and annual calendar. Serve as the staff liaison for the YPC and provide updates about its work to the Board as requested.
• Support small donor gatherings in volunteers’ homes by creating invitations, tracking responses, and providing relevant guest information to hosts. Attendance may be required. • Build momentum among Trustees, YPC members, staff, and volunteers for an annual peer-to-peer fundraising initiative. Develop the annual theme, create relevant, meaningful, and engaging content, and promote the initiative across social media platforms.
• Become knowledgeable about DonorPerfect to become the in-house expert, and: o Assure the integrity of data and records, deleting duplicate records, and ensuring appropriate coding; o Run reports and build new report templates as needed; and o Identify and champion various tech solutions that will support fundraising goals as needed.
• Create content, as needed, for internal and external audiences such as donor reports, newsletter articles, grants, and event press releases.
• Oversee PBC’s online fundraising platforms (i.e. GiveLively, Squarespace, Venmo).
• Provide annual maintenance of giving profiles on charitable websites such as Guidestar and Charity Navigator.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES
• Represent PBC at local community events as needed.
• Participate in staff meetings, staff development opportunities, and planning sessions as requested.
• Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's Degree in a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• A minimum of 3-5 years prior experience in a nonprofit fundraising program.
• Excellent communication and relationship building skills with an ability to prioritize, negotiate, and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders in a multi-cultural environment.
• High level of initiative and reliability.
• Keen analytic, organization, and problem-solving skills which support and enable sound decision making.
• Ability and willingness to learn new technologies and software.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite
• A successful track record in setting priorities and a multi-tasker with the ability to wear many hats in a fast-paced environment.
• Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, professionalism, a commitment to lead by example, and dedication to the mission of Princeton-Blairstown Center.
• Flexibility to work some nights and weekends as required.
The salary range for this position is between $55, 000 - $65,000.
