Development Senior Associate

Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America (SBA) is the largest pro-life political organization in the country with a nationwide network of more than 1 million Americans. We combine politics with policy, investing heavily in voter education to ensure that pro-life Americans know where their lawmakers stand on protecting the unborn, and in issue advocacy, advancing pro-life laws through direct lobbying and grassroots campaigns.

The Development Senior Associate plays a key role in supporting the fundraising operations of Susan B. Anthony Pro-life America. This includes managing donor data, donation processing, assisting with events, preparing correspondence, and supporting the Director of Development in executing the day-to-day operations of the fundraising program. 

This is a full-time, non-exempt salaried position that reports directly to the Director of Development.

Essential Functions:

• Maintain and update the donor database (Virtuous) with accuracy.
• Manage and execute the caging process, including serving as a supervisor for the donation processing associate. 
• Assist the Database Director and the Director of Development with the management of our direct mail processing vendor. Oversee caging processes and donation reporting (daily).
• Serve as the Development team’s liaison to accounting, coordinate reporting needs with the Director of Finance, the Database Director, and the Director of Development.
• Prepare acknowledgment letters and tax receipts.
• Assist with logistics for fundraising events.
• Assist the Director of Development with the execution of the digital fundraising program, managing communication plans and calendars, building emails, and producing performance reports.
• Conduct prospect research and compile donor profiles.
• Prepare mailing lists, email newsletters, and donor communications.
• Support the Development Director with administrative tasks and meeting preparation.
• Manage development-related files, supplies, and records.

•  Bachelor’s degree.
• 1 –2 years of administrative experience preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with donor databases is a plus.
• Self-starter who works well independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Education/Experience

• Fundraising administrative support or nonprofit experience preferred.
• Knowledge or experience with donor CRMS preferred.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position will oversee the donation processing associate.

Work Environment

This position is located at our office in Arlington, VA. This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones and photocopiers.

Physical Demands 

Must be able to perform essential duties satisfactorily with reasonable accommodations.   

Work is generally done sitting, talking, hearing, and typing.    

May be required to lift objects up to 20 lbs.

Position Type/Expected Hours 

40 hour per week. Weekend work and overnight stays/travel may be required.

Travel

Travel for events may be required.
