DevOps and Software Lab Engineer

As a DevOps and Software Lab Engineer at Applied Materials, you\u2019ll be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust development and testing environments to support continuous integration and delivery processes. This role bridges the gap between software development and IT operations, ensuring efficient workflow automation and system reliability. We are going through leap and bounds on ground-breaking technologies\u2014like machine learning and AI\u2014pushing the boundaries to craft novel software solutions that solve our customers\u2019 high-value problems. You\u2019ll design, develop, deploy software and solutions, manage for high availability, CI/CD, monitor and observability, sizing of hardware to server for a world class serviceability and anticipating software behaviors to ensure Applied remains the leader in the semiconductor and display sectors. \n\nKey Responsibilities \n\u2022 Develop, manage, and optimize CI/CD pipelines for various software projects. \n\u2022 Provision, configure, and maintain lab environments using virtualization, containerization, and cloud technologies. \n\u2022 Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to improve stability and scalability. \n\u2022 Collaborate with developers, QA teams, and IT to streamline build, test, and deployment processes. \n\u2022 Automate repetitive tasks using scripting languages and configuration management tools. \n\u2022 Ensure security, compliance, and documentation of lab systems and environments. \n\n\n \nMinimum Qualifications:\n\n * \u2022 Bachelor\u2019s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. \n\u2022 Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI), and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP). \n\u2022 Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell. \n\u2022 Strong understanding of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and virtualization technologies. \n\u2022 Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and teamwork skills. \n\u2022 Familiarity with infrastructure as code and configuration management tools (Ansible, Terraform, Chef).\n\n\n\n\n \nPreferred Qualifications:\n\n * Master\u2019s degree in a related field \n\n * Strong knowledge of industry best practices, key business drivers, and how your area of expertise integrates with others \n\n * Leadership skills to lead small projects as needed \n\n\n\n\n## Qualifications\n\n### Education:\n\nBachelor\u0027s Degree\n\n### Skills\n\n### Certifications:\n\n### Languages:\n\n### Years of Experience:\n\n4 - 7 Years\n\n### Work Experience:\n\n## Additional Information\n\n### \n\n### Shift:\n\n10-Day 8-Hr (United States of America)\n\n### \n\n### Travel:\n\nYes, 10% of the Time\n\n### \n\n### Relocation Eligible:\n\nNo\n\n### Referral Payment Plan:\n\nNone\n\nU.S. Salary Range:\n\n$132,000.00 - $181,500.00\n\nThe salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members.
