Job Title: Mental Health Professional- Diagnostic Specialist 

Location: Scranton, PA

Pay: $28.00 - $30.00 / hour

Position Overview

We are seeking a full-time Mental Health Professional with expertise in neurodevelopmental disorders to join our multidisciplinary team. This role focuses on the assessment and diagnostic process for children and adults.

Education and/or Experience:

  • A Master's degree in a recognized clinical discipline, including Social Work, Psychology, rehabilitation, Activity Therapies, or Counseling, is required
  • Must have completed an internship or practicum during your graduate program
  • Clinical experience with neurodevelopmental disorders and differential diagnosis
  • Ability to establish strong but short-term relationships that evoke trust 
  • Proficiency with standardized diagnostic tools used for ASD and ADHD evaluation
  • Experience coordinating with schools and medical providers is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations for ASD, ADHD, and related neurodevelopmental conditions across the lifespan.
  • Utilize standardized evaluation tools and clinical observation to support accurate diagnoses.
  • Gather and synthesize extensive developmental histories, patient reports, and behavioral observations.
  • Review and integrate existing records, including IEPs, prior psychological or medical evaluations, and other relevant documentation.
  • Collaborate with schools, healthcare providers, and other external partners as needed to complete evaluations.
  • Manage schedules and timelines effectively to ensure timely completion of assessments and documentation.
  • Coordinate with internal team members (e.g., psychologists, therapists, support staff) to support a cohesive assessment process.
  • Maintain thorough and timely documentation in line with organizational and regulatory standards.

Skills:

  • Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
  • Concise written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Willingness to work with families, child and adult populations.
  • Familiarity with school systems and special education processes.
  • Comfort working in fast-paced clinical environments.
  • Reliable
  • Non-judgmental attitude with the ability to listen, empathize, and accept others.
  • Adherence to ethical standards.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Computer skills for electronic health record system, electronic scheduling, billing, and future technology implementation.
