Dialysis Technician (NxStage Experience + Infant Care Skills)

About the Role:

We are looking for compassionate and reliable Care Partners with at least 1 year of NxStage dialysis machine experience to provide quality support for patients receiving dialysis in the comfort of their own homes. As a Care Partner, you will work closely with patients undergoing in-home dialysis, ensuring their environment is safe, they are prepped and supported for treatment, and that their overall wellbeing is monitored.

In addition to dialysis support, the helper will also need to provide assistance with infant care. This role is expected to cover six days a week, averaging about four hours per day.

You’ll be matched with patients based on both skill fit and personality, and supported by a clinical team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct & support patient setup for dialysis treatments (e.g., NxStage or equivalent machines)


• Provide companionship, emotional reassurance, and schedule adherence


• Monitor safety and assist with light activities of daily living (ADLs)


• Provide attentive and safe assistance with infant care, ensuring the child’s comfort and well-being


• Safely handle and monitor infants, including feeding, diapering, soothing, and maintaining a clean and safe environment


• Follow any special instructions from parents or guardians regarding the infant’s care, routines, or health needs


• Observe and promptly report any signs of distress, illness, or unusual behavior in the infant or patient


• Maintain a clean and safe environment for both dialysis treatment and infant care (e.g., sanitizing equipment and baby care areas)


• Maintain regular communication with clinic nurses, care coordinators, and family members


• Document any concerns, updates, or changes observed during support hours
  
  

Qualifications:

• Prior experience supporting dialysis patients (home or clinical setting)


• Familiarity with NxStage or other home dialysis machines (preferred)


• Prior hands-on experience caring for infants including feeding, changing, soothing, and safe sleep practices


• Knowledge of basic infant safety protocols (e.g., safe sleep, choking hazards, proper handling)


• Must be dependable, trustworthy, and able to maintain confidentiality
