DHI Cooperative Inc. is located in Columbus, Ohio and we are providers of Dairy Herd Improvement services for Ohio, Florida, Georgia and surrounding areas. We operate a lab in Columbus Ohio, and contract with Southeast Milk in Belleview Florida for lab services in that area. DHI Cooperative Inc. is owned and operated by our dairy farmer membership through a nine-member Board of Directors. This board is made up of 5 districts and one at-large member in the North Region and 2 districts a one at-large member in the Southeast Region.

Job Summary
The Operations Manager in DHI dairy farm is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the farm, ensuring the smooth running of all activities. This includes managing the herd, supervising milking operations, coordinating feed and nutrition programs, implementing and maintaining quality control measures and managing the farm’s financial performance.

Responsibilities

• Managing our team of farm workers, providing guidance and support to ensure productivity and efficiency.
• Managing staff, coordinating feeding and milking schedules, and maintaining equipment.
• Track herd performance, milk production, health events, and other key metrics.
• Monitoring herd health, administering veterinary care, and implementing breeding programs.
• Overseeing budgeting, cost control, and record-keeping.
• Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and environmental standards.
• Liaising with suppliers, buyers, and regulatory bodies to optimize production and market products effectively.
• Assist with inventory management and ordering of supplies.

Requirements

• Strong background in agriculture, with specific knowledge in dairy farming operations.
• A bachelor’s degree in agriculture or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in Dairy Herd and Facility Management.
• Demonstrated supervisory and communication skills.
• Strong work ethic, organizational ability, and problem-solving mindset.
• You will be required to handle multiple tasks and make critical decisions on a daily basis.
