B-Level Diesel Bus Mechanic
Location: Brooklyn, NY
Pay Range: $25–$30/hour (Based on experience & shift)
Shifts Available:

1st Shift: 5:00 AM – 2:00 PM
2nd Shift: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM
3rd Shift: 9:00 PM – 6:00 AM

🔍 What We’re Looking For:
We’re hiring a B-Level Diesel Bus Mechanic to join our Brooklyn depot. This role is ideal for someone with 3–4+ years of diesel repair experience who is comfortable handling advanced diagnostics, Cummins engines, DOT inspections, and electrical troubleshooting. If you're a well-rounded technician looking for stability and growth in a union environment, this is for you.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform advanced diagnostics and resolve issues using scan tools and OEM software
Troubleshoot and repair Cummins engines (fuel, cooling, turbo systems)
Conduct DOT inspections and ensure full compliance with FMCSA standards
Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems (sensors, wiring, relays, etc.)
Service and repair suspension, steering, HVAC, and brake systems
Perform full preventative maintenance and ensure fleet readiness
Collaborate with team on large repairs and contribute to shop cleanliness and safety

Requirements:

3–4 years of experience as a Diesel Technician (bus or truck fleet preferred)
Strong understanding of Cummins engines, DEF, and DPF systems
Familiarity with DOT inspection procedures and FMCSA regulations
Electrical diagnostic and repair experience using proper schematics/tools
Must have own tools and steel toe boots
Must pass a drug screen, background check, and MVR check (if applicable)
Able to lift 50+ lbs and work in a physical, fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications:

EPA 609 A/C certification (HVAC system experience is a plus)
CDL license (not required but helpful)
Experience working on transit buses or heavy-duty diesel fleets
Fabrication or welding experience a plus
