Diesel Engine Specialist

The Mechanic will repair and rebuild diesel engines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Identifies mechanical problems with diesel engines.
• Repairs and rebuilds diesel engines
• Performs tests on specific parts and systems to determine whether they are operating properly.
• Examines critical parts and systems using standard checklist.
• Repairs or replaces malfunctioning parts and systems in diesel engines.
• Conducts post-repair testing and diagnostics.
• Maintains a clean and safe repair shop.
• Tracks inventory of parts and tools needed for repairs.
• Maintains repair log for engines.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to use hand tools and power tools to repair engines.
• Extensive knowledge of all aspects of diesel engines.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to visually diagnose mechanical issues.
• Ability to read engine schematic.
• Ability to read work orders.
• Excellent mechanical repair skills.
• Ability to perform repairs in a timely fashion.
• Ability to follow instructions.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous related experience preferred.
• On-the-job training provided.
• Vocational or technical school training preferred.
