Position Description:
E-J Electric is seeking an experienced A-Rated Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and inspection of a variety of diesel-powered vehicles and equipment. This role requires strong proficiency in hydraulics, diagnostics, and state inspections.

Responsibilities:

Perform diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and repairs on diesel engines, heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and construction equipment
Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems
Conduct NYS vehicle inspections in compliance with safety standards
Maintain accurate service records and reports
Ensure equipment is in safe and reliable operating condition
Respond to emergency repairs as needed
Adhere to company and regulatory safety procedures

Qualifications:

A-rated diesel mechanic with minimum 5 years of hands-on experience
Strong knowledge of diesel engines, electrical systems, and hydraulics
Valid NYS Motor Vehicle Inspector License required
Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) preferred — must be willing to obtain if not already held
Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic tools
Strong attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills
Must be able to work independently and as part of a team

Salary Range: $44.86/hour (8 hrs. a day, 40 hrs. a week)

This role requires you to be on-site at the office in Brooklyn, NY.
