Job Description - Diesel Mechanic Assistant

Updates maintenance and repair logs;

Assists with inventory maintenance of replacement parts and equipment;

Inspects tools and equipment to ensure that they are in working order;

Cleans the shop and returns tools to proper locations;

Performs other duties as assigned;

Conducts safety checks on vehicles;

Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures;

Assists senior technicians in the completion of project work;

Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate standards;

Performs minor repairs and assigned preventive maintenance services;

Completes required paperwork, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times;

Assists with service calls for breakdowns;

Assists in the repair and adjustment of equipment;

Performs other maintenance related work as required.

Requirements:

Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, reach and move as needed;

Exposure to gasoline vapors and other mechanics fluids;

Must be at least 18 years of age;

1+ years of experience in heavy equipment or auto repair desirable;

Excellent mechanical skills;

Ability to multitask and work independently;

Must have an insurable driving record;

Able to lift up to 50 lbs;

Legally eligible to work in the United States;

Able to work early mornings, evenings and weekends as needed;

Must be able to work in the field, as needed, in varying weather conditions, including extreme heat and extreme cold;

Must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills;

Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position;

Ability to use hand and power tools.

Compensation: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
