Diesel Mechanic - FL

Bemana is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic in the Lake Panasoffkee, FL area to join an industry-leading freight management team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience inspecting, maintaining, and repairing tractors, trailers, and related heavy equipment. Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance (PM) inspections and services on tractors, trailers, and support equipment in accordance with the fleet PM program and DOT/FMCSA requirements, with a goal of continually reducing unscheduled downtime and roadside breakdowns.
• Analyze problems and interpret technical information necessary to make required repairs (troubleshooting of equipment issues) on diesel engines, transmissions, drivetrains, and related systems.
• Perform mechanical, electrical, and electronic diagnostics and repairs on tractors, trailers, and forklifts, using OEM diagnostic software and scan tools.
• Perform DOT-required annual and periodic inspections; review Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs) and complete the necessary follow-up repairs.
• Inspect, operate, and road-test vehicles and equipment to diagnose malfunctions and validate work performed.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of diesel or heavy-duty truck/trailer maintenance experience; recent graduates of a diesel technology program are encouraged to apply. A combination of education, training, and experience that results in demonstrated competency to perform the work will be considered.
• Basic understanding of diesel engines, brake systems, and electrical systems preferred; strong willingness to learn.
• Basic computer skills sufficient to enter and update work orders and maintenance records.
