Diesel Truck and Equipment Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Diesel Truck and Equipment Mechanic for our client in Madison, WI! Our client is a leading metal scrap yard dedicated to efficiency, safety, and sustainability. Our client relies on a fleet of heavy-duty trucks and equipment to keep their operations running smoothly. This is a Direct Hire opportunity!

Schedule: Monday - Friday 7am-3:30pm
Pay: $28-30/hr. DOE

We're looking for:

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel trucks, heavy equipment, and machinery used in scrap yard operations
• Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and emergency repairs to minimize downtime.
• Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical issues on loaders, excavators, skid steers, and other yard equipment.
• Conduct engine overhauls, brake repairs, transmission work, and other necessary fixes.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs performed.
• Ensure all work meets safety and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with the operations team to prioritize repairs and keep equipment operational.

• Experience as a Diesel Mechanic, Equipment Technician, or similar role
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and heavy equipment maintenance
• Experience with both Automatic and Manual Transmissions
• Experience operating heavy equipment
