Dietician

• Directs dietary care of patients with basic nutrition needs including screening, assessment, and care planning to ensure patient dietary needs and customer satisfaction levels are met.
• Educates medical staff and counsels patients and their families on proper nutritional care.
• Collaborates and communicates with culinary and clinical departments on established processes, nutrition care, special diets, and menu requests.
• Stays current with most recent nutrition-related trends, research, policy, certifications, and standards of practice.
• Performs related responsibilities as required or directed.

EDUCATION:

• Bachelors Degree  

LICENSURE, REGISTRATION, CERTIFICATION:

• Registration or registration is eligible for the American Dietetic Association leading to Licensure by the State of Tennessee Board of Dietitian/Nutritionist Examiners.  

EXPERIENCE:

• Entry-level to the profession provides job-related experiences for job performance. Previous experience in preparation for an internship program is a plus. Therefore, a new employee may be hired as ARDE=Registered Dietitian Eligible with the expectation of passing the registration examination.
