Our Sonar Innovation Lab needs someone with advanced skills in firmware development with established experience working with Xilinx FPGAs and embedded software in a version controlled, team environment. This individual will be accustomed to leveraging major simulation tools ad test benches as an integral part of the design and implementation process. This individual will be responsible for continuing the development and focused application of our \u00b5 SASTM product line, a fully embedded, interferometric, synthetic aperture sonar (SAS) boasting very low SWaP and real time beamforming.\n\nResponsibilities:\n\nTasks will included guiding existing technology into adjacent opportunities and continuing to improve the performance of the existing product line. Individual will also ensure integrated designs are ready for manufacture/production, for engineering follow through production addressing any issues that arise within cost and schedule constraints, and for factory acceptance level testing (FAT), both bench-level and within an Acoustic Test Facility. Once through FAT, this individual may be asked to travel to participate in field testing. Familiarity with sonar/sensor data analysis and\n\ninterpretation of data against requirements is encouraged.\n\nThis position will be located at our Annapolis, MD facility.\n\nThis position can be filled as a Digital Engineer or Principal Digital Engineer\n\nBasic Qualifications for a Digital Engineer:\n\n * Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering or related field with 2 years\u0027 of relevant experience. (0 years\u0027 with MS degree or 0 years with PhD)\n\n * FPGA Design experience with System on a Chip (SoC) platforms\n\n * VHDL and/or Verilog experience\n\n * Software and Firmware Design experience with C/C++\n\n * US citizen with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI and pass a polygraph\n\n\n\n\nBasic Qualifications for a Principal Digital Engineer:\n\n * Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering or related field with 5 years\u0027 of relevant experience. (3 years\u0027 with MS degree or 1 years with PhD)\n\n * FPGA Design experience with System on a Chip (SoC) platforms\n\n * VHDL and/or Verilog experience\n\n * Software and Firmware Design experience with C/C++\n\n * US citizen with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI and pass a polygraph\n\n\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\n * Experience with Xilinx 7 series (Zynq, Kintex) and Ultrascale family of devices\n\n * Experience with the implementation and analysis of digital signal processing (DSP) algorithms (MA preferred)\n\n * Modelsim and/ or Vivado Simulator experience\n\n * Experience simulating digital designs in Hyperlynx or similar signal integrity tools\n\n * Software build tool experience (cmake, autotools, bitbake, etc.)\n\n * Experience with the development and test of FPGA based signal processing algorithms\n\n * Development experience with sonar\n\n * GPU programming (e.g. CUDA) experience\n\n * Printed Circuit Board design and test experience\n\n * GIT and Subversion configuration management\n\n * Embedded Linux and build tools\n\n * Active Secret or TS clearance\n\n\n\n\nNGFeaturedJobs\n\nPrimary Level Salary Range: $96,300.00 - $144,500.00\n\nSecondary Level Salary Range: $119,600.00 - $179,400.00\n\nThe above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate\u0027s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.\n\nDepending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
