Digital Media Specialist

     - Commander, Naval Surface Group, Middle Pacific (COMNAVSURFGRU MIDPAC) – Hawaii

Position: Full-Time / On-Site (Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii)

     - Primary day-to-day work location: COMNAVSURFGRU MIDPAC, Building 150 

     - Work may also be performed aboard ships or at shore activities as directed by the TPOC.

Caladwich is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Digital Media Specialist to support Commander, Naval Surface Group, Middle Pacific (COMNAVSURFGRU MIDPAC) at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii. The specialist will execute comprehensive social and digital media support, including strategy development, multimedia content creation, platform management, audience engagement, analytics, reporting, and compliance monitoring.

This position offers the opportunity to strengthen COMNAVSURFGRU MIDPAC's online presence and stakeholder engagement through accurate, timely, and compelling digital communication. The role works collaboratively with Commander, Naval Surface Force Pacific (CNSP) and command stakeholders to maintain consistent Navy branding and messaging while adapting to emerging communication trends and technologies.

Core responsibilities:  

· Collaborate with Commander, Naval Surface Force Pacific (CNSP) to develop and execute a comprehensive digital media strategy aligned with COMNAVSURFGRU MIDPAC objectives.

· Integrate strategic planning, content creation, platform management, audience engagement, analytics, and compliance monitoring within Navy guidelines.

· Create engaging multimedia content, including videos, graphics, articles, and infographics, tailored to diverse audiences while adhering to Navy messaging guidelines.

· Regularly update and manage command social media platforms with accurate, relevant, timely, and high-quality content reflecting COMNAVSURFGRU MIDPAC values and objectives.

· Actively oversee command social media profiles and maintain responsive interaction with audiences.

· Employ engagement tactics such as contests, polls, live sessions, and community-driven initiatives to increase participation, retention, visibility, reach, and engagement.

· Conduct regular analysis of social media metrics, audience behavior, and campaign performance to derive actionable insights.

· Prepare comprehensive reports and data-driven assessments to refine content, engagement strategies, and platform management.

· Ensure strict adherence to Navy directives, security protocols, confidentiality standards, and established digital communication policies.

· Coordinate across departments to maintain consistent branding and messaging across digital platforms.

· Stay informed on emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in digital communication to continually optimize strategies.

Operational Support (Listed in PWS)

· Manage and maintain websites, ensuring content accuracy and adherence to DoD policies.

· Create written and visual content for websites and social media platforms, with specific emphasis on audience engagement on Facebook and Instagram.

· Monitor and analyze website and social media analytics and use performance data to inform communication decisions.

· Maintain timely and responsive communication when addressing audience inquiries and comments.

· Participate in collaborative coordination and periodic performance meetings as required to support consistent branding, messaging, and mission objectives.

· Produce required deliverables, including monthly performance reports, monthly analytics reports, bi-weekly content updates, quarterly strategy audits, quarterly engagement metric reviews, quarterly trend analysis reports, bi-annual security audits, and monthly meeting attendance records.

· Perform work primarily during 0800-1600, Monday through Friday, excluding Federal holidays, unless otherwise approved by the TPOC.

· Perform duties at Building 150, Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, and, when requested, aboard ships or at shore activities.


Requirements

Required Qualifications (Listed in PWS)

· Demonstrated ability to develop and execute digital media strategies aligned with organizational objectives and Navy communication requirements.

· Ability to create and manage professional multimedia content across digital channels, including videos, graphics, articles, and infographics.

· Ability to manage social media platforms, engage audiences responsively, and apply engagement tactics that support increased reach and participation.

· Ability to analyze social media and website metrics, assess campaign performance, and prepare recurring performance and analytics reports.

· Working knowledge of digital communication compliance, information security, confidentiality, and Navy/DoD policy requirements applicable to official online communication.

· Ability to coordinate effectively with Government stakeholders and cross-functional teams to maintain consistent branding and messaging.

· Ability to remain current on emerging digital communication technologies, industry trends, and best practices.

Other Requirements: (Listed in PWS)

· Must be a US Citizen

· Ability to obtain and maintain a favorable background investigation or security clearance as required by the contract.

· Must adhere to Navy security protocols and possess or obtain the clearances required by applicable security directives.

· Must satisfy installation access requirements, including Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) procedures when applicable.

· Must safeguard Government assets, data, materials, sensitive information, and Personally Identifiable Information (PII) in accordance with Navy security requirements.

· Must be able to pass background investigations including a FBI fingerprint check and a National Agency Check with Inquires (NACI) adjudication.
