ASI currently has a hybrid work model. This position requires in person attendance at our office in Trevose, PA on Tuesdays & Wednesdays.

ASI is seeking a dynamic Digital News Editor to pitch, write, report, and edit everything from breaking news alerts to in-depth feature stories, with a strong grasp on multimedia storytelling and editorial collaboration.

Reporting directly to the Editor-in-Chief, this role will join ASI’s award-winning Editorial department and work alongside the Editorial team to generate story ideas.

The salary range for this role is $67,500 - $75,000. 

Responsibilities:

• Writing, sourcing, reporting and assigning news stories for ASICentral.com.


• Writing, sourcing, and reporting feature stories, articles, case studies and smaller items each month for ASICentral.com, Counselor and PPM


• Contributing to multimedia efforts, including podcasts, social media, videos, infographic creation, etc.


• Writing, sourcing, and reporting Breaking News alerts.


• Overseeing and editing one of three Counselor PromoGram newsletter weekly editions.


• Periodically overseeing each weekly edition of “Week In Review” newsletter.


• Contributing to Counselor’s annual State of the Industry issue.


• Editing and proofing select print and online design layouts before they are published.


• AI efficiencies (using AI – not for writing – but for some editing, posting, metric analysis, data gathering for stories, etc). 


• Attending regular staff meetings to help generate story ideas.


• Assisting with special projects, such as supplements, as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or related field


• 3-5 years of solid news writing/editing experience required, preferably for a business publication or daily newspaper


• Must have proven ability to investigate, research, and find news


• Knowledge of basic computer skills, including MS Office, WordPress, Google Workspace, Canva, Adobe Photoshop


• Must be deadline oriented


• Must be able to handle a variety of different tasks


• Must be accustomed to coming up with own story ideas and sources


• Must have a positive, self-reliant, resourceful attitude.


• Strong writing/journalism skills


• Strong reporting and communication skills


• Strong editing and article conception skills
