Job Title: Digital Production Coordinator

Duration: 3 Months (possible contract to hire)
Location: NYC

Job Description:

We are looking for a web-savvy, highly organized individual with excellent technical and communication skills to join Medscape's production team. The Web Production Associate is an entry-level position responsible for hand-coding content from source material quickly, efficiently, and accurately. Our ideal candidate would possess one to two years experience professional web production experience. Additionally, experience in the Production department at a medical journal or book publishing company is a plus.

Required Skills:

• Individual must be a self‐starter with the ability to handle a number of simultaneous projects, demonstrate a sense of urgency and ownership to drive projects to completion, and be successful in a collaborative environment.
• The candidate must be organized, detail oriented and be able to prioritize tasks.
• The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to define and deliver high visibility projects in a timely manner.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills, attention to detail and the ability to communicate effectively ﴾written and verbal﴿ are also critical success factors in this role.‐ Knowledge of HTML/XHTML ﴾hand coding and use of text editor﴿ and XML‐ Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Adobe Professionalo End‐to‐end understanding of development processes, organization, and techniques in order to drive the creation of optimal solutions.

Desired (not required) Skills:

Experience with Photoshop and QuarkXPress
o Develop detailed work breakdown structure for analysis design, development and deployment activities
o Designing, coding, testing, defect management, and production support ﴾in collaboration with various internal teams
• Prior responsibilities that required communication and coordination across different groups: e.g., Account Management, QA, and Editorial.
