Description

At Harbor’s Edge, excellence is our standard. Situated along the picturesque Elizabeth River in Norfolk, our five-star, resort-style Continuing Care Retirement Community offers a full continuum of care in an environment defined by elegance, engagement, and community.

Recognized as a 2025 “Best” Senior Living Community by U.S. News & World Report, we take pride in fostering a culture where team members are valued, supported, and empowered to grow. Our employees are central to our success, and we are committed to providing a workplace that reflects the same quality and care we deliver to our residents.

We are currently seeking a full-time Dining Room Supervisor to oversee and support our front-of-house dining team. In this leadership role, you will be responsible for training and mentoring staff, coordinating schedules, and ensuring an exceptional dining experience for residents and guests. • Develop and manage staff schedules, shift assignments, and daily opening/closing procedures to ensure smooth operations.
  • Implement and maintain service standards, checklists, floor plans, and station assignments to streamline workflow.
  • Conduct pre-shift meetings, communicate updates, and reinforce performance expectations.
  • Maintain accurate menus, POS systems, and OpenTable settings, including resident preferences and special events.
  • Ensure exceptional resident and guest experiences by maintaining a visible presence and resolving concerns promptly.
  • Collaborate with Resident Services and Marketing to execute special events and dining initiatives.
  • Monitor inventory and step into service roles as needed to support seamless dining operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management or related field preferred.
  • At least two (2) years of progressive experience in hospitality, ideally in fine dining or restaurant management.
  • Familiarity with dining regulations and compliance standards in long-term care or senior living settings preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of fine dining service standards and operational best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a resident-focused approach to service.
  • Demonstrated commitment to exceptional customer service, professionalism, and creativity.
  • Highly organized and self-motivated, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, POS systems, and reservation platforms such as OpenTable.

Comprehensive benefit package includes:

  • Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance
  • Onsite Pharmacy & Convenience Store
  • Paid Time Off + 6 Paid Holidays
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
  • Employer-Paid Life & AD&D Insurance
  • Employer-Paid Short- & Long-Term Disability
  • 403(b) Retirement Plan w/ Employer Contribution
  • Tuition Reimbursement
  • Employer-Paid Certification Training
  • Legal Resources & Identity Protection Plan
