Direct Care Worker

Direct Care Worker, HHA / CNA / needed for a Home Health Agency (Lehigh Valley, Allentown & Bucks Counties, PA) We are looking for a compassionate Direct Care Worker to provide assistance in daily living and personal care services in patient’s homes in accordance with an established care plan. ( Experience in Alzheimer, Dementia & Multiple Sclerosis is preferred)
Responsibilities • Provide health care services in patient’s residences • Perform domestic and household tasks • Transport and accompany patients to doctors office or to hospital • Administer simple prescribed medications • Assist with clients personal care activities • Monitor patients (vital signs, temperature, respiration, etc) and report on their condition • Maintain patients care records and document provided services • Assist patients with mobility and physical therapies/exercises • Ability to commute to client home • Provide companionship and basic emotional or psychological support
Skills • Must be at least 18 years old • Proven working experience as home health aide • Pass a Criminal Background check • Familiarity with basic nutrition and personal hygiene standards • Nursing and health care administration skills • Complete initial and ongoing training • Certificate of CNA, HHA or Direct Care Training is required • Ability to lift 50 lbs and tolerate periods of repeated bending, stooping, etc as necessary to meet the needs of assigned patients. • Caring and compassionate personality • Must posses current CPR & PPD certification • Must posses current Pennsylvania Certification in relevant field • First Aid training • Valid driver’s license
